Who we are
Save My Utility Ltd (“we”, “us”) is a utility consultancy for UK businesses. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Company number [to be confirmed], registered office 50 Cambridge Road, Barking, IG11 8FG, ICO registration [to be confirmed].
Questions about this policy go to [email protected].
What we collect
Details you send us: your name, business name, email address, phone number and whatever you write in an enquiry or newsletter form.
Details from your bills: supply addresses, meter numbers, current rates, consumption and contract end dates. These identify a business rather than a person, but they arrive attached to your enquiry so we treat them with the same care.
Technical data your browser sends when you load the site, such as IP address and user agent. We do not run advertising or profiling cookies.
Why we hold it and on what basis
To answer your enquiry and to prepare quotes — our legitimate interest in responding to someone who contacted us, and the steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
To arrange a switch with a supplier once you have chosen one — performance of that contract.
To send the newsletter, where you asked for it — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link.
To meet our record-keeping and regulatory obligations — legal obligation.
Who we share it with
Suppliers you ask us to quote from or switch to, limited to what the quote or transfer requires. We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.
Service providers who host the site or handle our email on our instructions, under contract and only for those purposes.
Anyone we are legally required to disclose to, such as a regulator or a court.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a contract: up to 24 months, so we can pick up the conversation at your next renewal.
Contracts we arranged: six years after the contract ends, which is the period our commercial and tax records must cover.
Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or erase it, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for it in a portable format, and withdraw consent where consent is the basis. Write to us and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
